My stay at Hakuba Hotel Paipu No Kemuri was a mixed experience. The outdoor onsen was a blessing after long ski days, and the spacious room compared to other hotels in Japan was a plus. However, the location was a bit of a nightmare with a steep hill that was icy and dangerous. The staff weren't particularly accommodating, and I faced issues like lack of shuttle service and no help with taxi bookings.

Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious but a bit shabby. It could definitely use a fresh coat of paint.
Service
5.0
The service was polite, but interactions often felt lacking in warmth and helpfulness. They were not accommodating with early check-in or late checkout.
Location
5.0
The hotel's location was tricky. Although it's a short walk to the slopes, hauling luggage and ski gear up the steep, icy hill was exhausting.
Dining
6.0
Dining options were decent and reasonably priced, but lacked variety. The meals were adequate and good enough for not venturing out in the cold.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were solid with a good drying room and a cozy lobby. The onsen was good and the small shop was convenient for quick snacks.

5.0/10

I stayed at Hakuba Hotel Paipu No Kemuri for a short ski trip, and while it's not the most modern or stylish place, it has some solid facilities. The location is fantastic, being just a short walk from the lifts, which made skiing super convenient. However, the WiFi was quite unreliable and the breakfast options were somewhat limited. Overall, I found it comfortable enough for my needs. 🏔️😊

While the hotel is quite basic and a bit dated, it offers some decent facilities for a ski holiday, like a fantastic traditional onsen and convenient drying rooms for gear. However, the room was smaller than I had hoped, and the in-room amenities were quite limited.
